Mr. Whittaker has held senior positions in the mineral industry for the last 20 years. Most recently, he was a founder of GoGold Resources Inc., a mineral exploration, development and production company. Daniel held senior management positions with GoGold from January 2008 to January 2016 and also served as a director of GoGold from inception to January 2013. He founded Ucore Rare Metals Inc. in 2006 and served as an officer and director to March 2008.
Mr. Whittaker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics Degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He also has held the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute since 1995.
Mr. Megann has been a mining executive and business leader for many years, serving as President and CEO of Stockport Exploration since early 2012. Jim has also been serving as the Managing Director of Numus Financial, a venture capital firm focused on early stage, high growth companies since the company’s inception in 2014. In addition to this, Jim is a director of Metallum Resources, a publically traded company currently completing a change of business with the TSX.
Mr. Megann is active in his community serving as director for several charitable organization including membership on the executive board of a Canadian not-for-profit group, Young Adult Cancer Canada, an organization dedicated to supporting Canadians under 40 suffering from Cancer. His extensive community work has earned him the Queens Jubilee medal. He also worked as a senior consultant on government, and community relations programs.
Paul is an accomplished business executive and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in media, finance and politics. Paul spent a decade as a leader in the broadcast and new media industry as CTVglobemedia’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs. He also held senior positions in public service, including with the Government of Canada as Director of Operations to Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, and as a senior aide to two Premiers of Newfoundland and Labrador; Clyde Wells and Brian Tobin. Paul Co-Founded Difference Capital Financial Inc. and currently serves on a number of private and public boards.
Carl is a geologist with over 25 years of experience in the exploration and mining industry. He has been the CEO of Atacama Pacific Gold Corporation since 2011 (now merged with Rio2 Ltd.) and was the co-founder and CEO of Andina Minerals, Inc. from 2004 through 2009. Mr. Hansen has held senior positions with TVX Gold Inc., Kinross Gold Corp., and Inco Limited.
Mr. Dawe is an accomplished entrepreneur, financier and investor based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He currently serves as Chairman of TSX listed Pivot Technology Solutions Inc. , and as Chairman & CEO of Fortune Bay Corp., a TSX-V listed company formed in 2016. He has founded or co-founded a number of successful companies, including Keeper Resources Inc. (2003) which was sold for $51.6 million in 2008, and Brigus Gold Corp. (2010) which was acquired by Primero Mining Corp. in 2014 in an all share deal valued at $351 million. Since 2005, Mr. Dawe has been actively involved as the principal financier of TSX listed biotechnology company Immunovaccine Inc., and serves on its Board of Directors and as Chair of its Finance committee. He is also a director of TSX-V listed kneat.com, inc.
Mr. Dawe holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University (MUN), where he sits on the Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration. His philanthropic activities include establishing and personally funding the annual James R. Pearcey Entrepreneurial Scholarship at MUN, and he recently funded DC Makes, a new entrepreneurship-based program at the Discovery Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Mr. Dawe, originally from Newfoundland, is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), an international organization for business leaders.
Mr. Randall has served as a contract CFO for a number of TSXV-listed companies over the past five years and has extensive public company financial experience. In addition to Northwest, Rob also currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Metallum Resources Inc., Stockport Exploration and Canabo Medical Inc. Rob was the Corporate Controller of Etruscan Resources Inc. from 1997 to 2011 overseeing the financial operations for all aspects of its gold exploration and production activities throughout West Africa, as well as, its diamond operations in South Africa. He also served as Controller of NovaGold Resources Inc. from 1997 to 2001.
Rob graduated with a Commerce Degree from St. Mary’s University in Halifax and obtained his CA designation in 1987 with Coopers and Lybrand Chartered Accountants where he was appointed as a Principal in 1995. He is a member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Canada and Nova Scotia.
Mr. Thomson has been serving as the Manager of Investor Relations at Numus Financial Inc., a Halifax, NS based venture capital firm focused on early-stage, high growth companies since the company’s inception in 2014. Paul regularly provides investor relations services to companies listed on the TSX and TSXV Exchanges. Prior to joining Numus Financial, Paul worked as an independent investment and insurance advisor.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kings College and has completed numerous courses in the investment industry. Mr. Thomson is on the Board of Governors of the University of King’s College, where he serves on the Executive Committee, Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and Advancement Committee. He is also on the Alumni Association Executive board and serves on the Finance Committee.
Christopher is an experienced professional in the Mineral industry, with a diverse and progressive background. He is experienced in identifying new opportunities, mapping potential markets, cultivating and maintaining relationships with industry leaders.
Mr. Bird has over 27 years’ diverse experience, including over 15 years at the executive management level. Mr. Bird was the Senior Vice President of Exploration and Geology at Brigus Gold Corp. (“Brigus”), where he led the exploration team in the recent discovery of three new gold deposits at the Grey Fox Project. He was also part of the corporate development team in adding over two million ounces with the acquisitions of the Black Fox mine, near Timmins, Ontario and the permitted Box mine deposit in northern Saskatchewan. Brigus was later acquired by Primero Mining Corp. in March 2014. Prior to Brigus, Howard was the Senior Vice President of Global Exploration for SouthernEra Resources Ltd., and the Senior Project Geologist for Noranda Inc. and International Corona Resources, working within the Abitibi, Hemlo, and Michipicoten gold camps. In addition, Howard has extensive international geological knowledge working in Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and many parts of Africa. Mr. Bird has an Honors Bachelor of Science in Geology from McMaster University. He is an active member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (P.Geo.), and the Prospectors and Developers Association.
